Important Dates/Away Trips

Varsity Charter Bus Trip:

This year’s charter bus trip for the top 20 boys/top 20 girls will be to an overnight meet in Kissimmee, Florida.  We will leave 8/23 and race on 8/24. After the meet Saturday, we will spend the day at Universal!  Then we will head back home on Sunday. The cost per person is $350, but any Runathon money raised over $120 will go towards offsetting this cost for each runner.  The runners eligible for this trip will be determined after the season opener Time Trial on 7/27.

The Wingfoot Invitational is a Varsity trip that JV can also earn (but prospective Varsity runners need to complete standard #1 below).  For JV to earn the overnight Wingfoot trip in 2024 they must meet ALL of the following requirements:

​

1. Help with one of 2 workdays on our campus course: 7/25 or 8/5

2. Have no unexcused absences

3. Consistently doing drills/workouts the 2 weeks leading up to the meet and planning on racing. 

4. Have raced at least one 5k during the season 

5. Be healthy and cleared to race in the meet.
    

Coaches retain the right to invite additional athletes to the meet based on exceptional circumstances or the needs of the team.

*May 14th-XC Kickoff-6:30pm in Mill Creek Commons Area

 *May 20th-Summer Mileage begins

*May 27th-June 2nd-GHSA Dead Week #1. No practice allowed. 

· *June 3rd-First day of summer practice-7:30am-Little Mulberry (Fence Rd entrance). Camp deposit due! ($50 or can pay full amount).

· *June 25th-Tubing in Helen after practice.  More details TBA. 

· June (TBA) – Spiritwear clothing orders. Info will be emailed out.

-July 1st-7th-GHSA Dead Week #2. No practice allowed. 

-July 8th-12th-Camp @ Berry College

-Last 2 morning Summer Practices: Monday, 7/22 and Tuesday, 7/23-

-Thursday, 7/25-Practice at 3pm at Mulberry-first Wingfoot Trail Workday for overnight trip

-July 27th-Time Trial 8am@ School-mandatory attendance!

- August 5th-first day of mandatory official practice and make up timetrial. Practice will be 2:30-4:30 Mon-Fri rest of the season. Also Last Wingfoot Trail Workday. 

-August 10th-Runathon @ school 8am-12pm.

-August 10th-12:15pm-Parent/Booster Club Meeting in Fieldhouse

-August 14th-Picture Day during practice

-September 12th-Possible Spaghetti Dinner in Atrium at School. TBA. 

- Week of 12/9-Banquet in the commons area.  More details TBA.
